Privacy Policy

Fundy is a learning app for personal finance, mutual funds and stocks. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can have it removed. It covers both this website (getfundy.app) and the Fundy mobile app.
Fundy is currently run by Jagadeesh Dondeti, an individual based in India, who is the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If that changes — for example if Fundy is incorporated — this page will be updated.
What we collect on this website
If you join the early access list, we store:

That is all. This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers.
We do measure how the site is used, with Vercel Web Analytics. It records page views and a few events — that a signup happened, and which course was chosen — along with the page, referrer, country, and general device type. It does not use cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. Your email address is never sent to it.
Your IP address is used momentarily to rate-limit the signup form so it cannot be abused. It is held in server memory for a few minutes and is never written to our database.
What we collect in the app

Analytics and recordings are tied to a random device ID, and — once you sign in — to your account ID. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to PostHog.
Session recordings in the app
To understand where Fundy is confusing, we record sessions inside the app using PostHog. A recording is a reconstruction of what was on screen and where you tapped — which lesson you were on, which question you paused at, which answer you picked. It is not video or audio from your camera or microphone, and it does not capture anything outside the Fundy app.
Most of what is on screen is our own course content — the lessons, questions and worked examples, including the rupee figures in them, which are made-up teaching examples and not your money. Fundy does not ask you about your own income, savings or holdings, and it never connects to your bank, broker or demat account.
The screens that do show personal details are masked out of recordings: phone sign-in (your number and the one-time code), onboarding (your name and email), and your profile. On a recording those appear as blank blocks.
Recordings are kept for up to 30 days and are then deleted automatically. If you would rather not be recorded at all, email us at getfundy@gmail.com and we will switch recording off for your account and delete any recordings we already have.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report so we can fix it. A report contains the technical error and stack trace, your device model, operating system version, app version, the time of the crash, and a random Crashlytics identifier for the installation. It does not contain your name, email address or phone number, and it does not contain your learning content. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
Pricing research during early access
Fundy is in early access and we do not collect payments. You may occasionally see a screen showing a price for a course. No payment is taken and no card details are ever requested or stored.
We record whether you chose to continue at that price, and the reason you give if you decline, so we can work out what Fundy should cost. This is research, not a charge.
Who else sees your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these service providers to run Fundy:

These providers process your data on our instructions, to run Fundy — not for their own advertising. They may process and store data outside India, including in the United States; PostHog and Crashlytics data is stored in the United States. We may also disclose data if required by law.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails are kept until early access finishes or you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. Account and progress data is kept while your account exists. Session recordings are kept for up to 30 days and crash reports for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it by law.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data and your account;
- withdraw consent you previously gave; and
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot.
Email getfundy@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. To leave the waitlist, email the same address and we will delete your entry — no account needed.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Fundy is intended for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email getfundy@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Security
Data is stored in Google Firebase with access restricted to Fundy administrators, and all traffic to this site and the app is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will notify you and the Data Protection Board if a breach affects you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and move the “last updated” date. For significant changes during early access, we will email people on the waitlist.
